On one-dimensional dynamics with weak hyperbolicity

A one-dimensional map fails to be uniformly hyperbolic (as a dynamical system) in a serious way. We shall discuss dynamical properties of such a map under various non-uniform hyperbolicity assumptions. In particular, we shall present examples of one-dimensional maps with subexponential speed of mixing, estimated from both above and below. We shall also discuss the relation of these non-uniform hyperbolicity assumptions. This talk is based on joint works with Juan Rivera-Letelier, Huaibin Li and Rui Gao.
