Schanuel's Conjecture and criteria for algebraic independence

101 , Mathematics Research Center Building (ori. New Math. Bldg.)

Ten years ago, Damien Roy introduced a new conjecture which he shows to be equivalent to Schanuel's one. His conjecture is reminiscent of Gel'fond's transcendence criteria and gives a strong motivation to prove new criteria for algebraic independence. In contrast with the previous ones, they involve derivatives and several points. We review the recent progress in this direction."
