Workshops2011 TIMS Summer School on Mirror Symmetry
reads
June 7, 2011
308, Mathematics Research Center Building (ori. New Math. Bldg.)
Four sets of lecture series will be delivered around the theme "advanced topics in mirror symmetry and related developments in recent years". The level should be suitable for graduate students and young researchers with some background in classical mirror symmetry (such as basic Gromov-Witten theory) and basic notions in quantum field theory (though this is not absolutely required). Each lecture series consists of three 100-minute lectures. The emphasis will be more on the conceptual developments rather than specific technical details. The aim is to provide the participants a better perspective to pursue studies on related problems.
Topics will include:
- Mirror symmetry in higher genus (e.g. BCOV).
- Givental's axiomatic GW theory.
- Real structure and tt* equations.
- Recent aspects from physics including open strings.
