GKZ systems appear in the study of mirror symmetry as they consist of Picard--Fuchs equations for the periods of Calabi--Yau hypersurfaces/complete intersections in toric varieties. In this talk, we will study GKZ systems arising in mirror symmetry and prove that such a system always admits a rank-one point on (a resolution of) the secondary fan moduli. In particular, it provides a nice candidate of the so-called large complex structure limit points, where mirror symmetry is expected.
