An extremal transition is called Type II if the involved crepant resolution contracts an irreducible divisor to an isolated singularity. In this talk, I will compare the genus-zero Gromov--Witten invariants of Calabi--Yau 3-folds under Type II transitions with an isolated complete intersection singularity, in an analogue way as for the well known formula under conifold transitions. If time permits I shall discuss the other extremal transitions. This is joint work with Shuang-Yen Lee and Chin-Lung Wang.
