In this lecture series, I will first give basic properties of the Riemann Zeta-function in particular the distribution of its zeros, and then as an application I will explian their consequences in the distribution of primes. Finally I will try to explain what are known for automorphic L-functions which are building blocks of the Langlands program. I do not assume a deep knowledge of number theory or the theory of the Zeta-function. The titles of the three lectures are as follows: (1) The Riemann Zeta-function and distribution of its zeros. (2) Connection with primes and other areas. (3) Beyond the Riemann Zeta-functions: automorphic L-functions.
