Elliptic integrble systems seem to be getting more attention recently, due to its connection with many areas of mathematics and applications to physics. From PDE point of view, we are interested in bubbling phenomenon (generally with non-constant coefficient). On the other hand, the integrability of limiting equations for bubbling solution can give rise to deep connection with algebraic geometry. In this talk, we shall give an example: the Liouville equation, to explain those connection: nonlinear elliptic PDE, Lame equation, algebraic geometry, modular forms, …etc.
