On the CR Obata Theorem for Kohn Laplacian in a Closed Spherical Pseudohermitian Manifold

In 1996, S.-S. Chern and S.-Y. Ji proved a generalization of the Riemann mapping theorem: If Ω is a bounded simply connected domain in Cⁿ⁺¹ and its connected smooth boundary ∂Ω has a spherical CR structure, then it is biholomorphic to the unit ball and ∂Ω is the standard pseudohermitian (2n+1)- sphere. In this talk, we address the related problem via the CR Obata conjecture for the Kohn Laplacian in a closed spherical pseudohermitian (2n+1)-manifold. This is a joint work with C.-T. Wu.
