This talk is based on the paper "Nodal domains and spectral minimal partitions" by Helffer, Hoffmann-Ostenhof and Terracini. The relations between the nodal domains of the eigenfunctions of 2-D Dirichlet Laplacians and the partitions by k open sets D_i which are optimal in the sense that the maximum over the D_i's of the ground state energy of the Dirichlet realization of the Laplacian in D_i is minimal.
