There are plenty of interesting problems in image processing that can be solved by statistical methods. In this talk, I will introduce the following examples. (i) Image Rigistration, (ii) OCR (Optical Character Recognition) (iii) Image DeNoising / DeGrain (iv) Image Warping / DeWarping. Statistical methods / concepts involved include Bayesian Analysis, Classification, Robust Regression, Principle Component Analysis, Surface Fitting.
