My talk is concerned with a free boundary problem for a certain class of reaction-diffusion equations. This problem models the invasion or migration of a species into a new environment. Our simple model is described by two unknown functions, a population density of the species and a free bounday, in a one-dimensional space. Moreover, the dynamics of the free boundary is given by a Stefan-like condition. I will study the large-time behavior of the population density and the free boundary and explain the spreading and vanishing the species. For material related to this talk, click here.
