We discuss the main features of non-Abelian vortex solutions foundin 2003 and since studied in depth by several groups, both from physics and mathematical points of views. They have surprisingly richmathematical structures and beautiful physical properties, related through homotopy, symmetry and stability arguments to the concept ofnon-Abelian monopoles.
