Dual variational approach to a quasilinear Schrodinger equation arising in plasma physics

We consider standing wave solutions of a class of quasilinear Schrodinger equations arising in plasma physics. We study the existence and uniqueness of ground states for the stationary problems. Using a suitable transformation, we convert the quasilinear elliptic equations into semilinear elliptic equations. We adopt the variational method and ODE technique to show the existence and uniqueness of the ground states.
