In the study of Drinfeld modules, Anderson generating functions play an important role that connects several parts of the theory. They link transcendence theory, Drinfeld modular forms, and Galois representations over global function fields. We will discuss their many uses and present new formulas for describing them explicitly. Joint work with Ahmad El-Guindy.
